Southeastern Regional Medical Center has been one of the top health care providers since 1953. What was once a community hospital, has now grown into a major medical center. As a nonprofit organization, Southeastern is operated by a local board of trustees. It offers a variety of specialized departments and services. Some of the exciting changes in health care technology include a state-of-the-art heart center. SRMC has numerous affiliations with Duke University Health System. It operates eight primary care clinics in Clarkton, Fairmont, Lumberton (3), Red Springs, Rowland and St. Pauls. SRMC has 23 specialized affiliates that range from Gibson Cancer Center to Southeastern Wound Healing Center. Lumberton and the entire region served by Southeastern is a close-knit community. While they take great pride in providing the best technology, they feel that it is their people that make the difference.
